Ruthzee Louijeune, Boston City Council President and At-Large Councilor, is the first Haitian American elected to Boston municipal government and to lead the Council. Born and raised in Mattapan and Hyde Park, she is a lawyer and advocate who has fought evictions in Housing Court, defended voting rights before the U.S. Supreme Court, and secured millions for first-generation homeowners. A proud Boston Public Schools alum, Ruthzee has championed affordable housing, immigrant rights, racial justice, and civic participation—always centering the voices of marginalized communities as she works to build a more just and inclusive Boston.
