Who We Are At Maria’s List

Maria Jobin-Leeds
Chair, The Partnership for Democracy and Education
Maria Jobin-Leeds is Chair of The Partnership for Democracy and Education LLC, a multi-entity hub that supports partner organizations and programs playing essential, intersectional roles in strengthening movement-building ecosystems. The organization works alongside donors, grassroots leaders, and aligned institutions to address power inequities impacting historically marginalized communities. Together, they incubate social change by resourcing movement organizations and leaders, while building the civic and political infrastructure needed for low-income communities, women, and people of color to exercise independent political power and drive collective change.
Maria has played a key role in incubating and advancing initiatives including Maria’s List, The Partnership Loft, Access Strategies Fund, the Caroline and Sigmund Schott Foundation, and When We Fight, We Win.
Recognizing the urgent need for greater representation of women of color in elected office, Maria helped launch the Women’s Pipeline for Change and later founded Maria’s List in 2010. The initiative supports progressive women and leaders of color running for office across the country, with a special focus on Massachusetts. Through donor organizing, leadership development, and candidate support, her work has helped strengthen progressive political infrastructure and expand inclusive representation in public life.
